Ian Matthew graduated from Laurentian University with an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree relocating to the Kitchener area to work for a major accounting firm earning his Chartered Accountant designation.  Ian pursued a personal goal of working for an international publicly owned corporation as their Vice-President of finance.  After extensive travel, Ian returned to the accounting firm working in the insolvency & bankruptcy area in Kitchener and Toronto.

Having enjoyed the operating entities in turnaround situations offered by the insolvency experience he acquired his first business in Toronto : manufacturer and direct seller of cosmetic products. A successful sale of this business led to the acquisition of several other businesses over the years including : manufacturing, retail, trucking and software.

During the past twenty years Ian combined these activities with his growing accounting/tax practice and teaching at Conestoga College.  Initially instructing entrepreneurs in their quest of business ownership, Ian spent the last several years at the college as an income tax professor.

This combination of experiences has aided Ian with a unique perspective of accounting/tax issues.  A small business person at heart, Ian enjoys assisting start-ups and growing corporations and those with growing pains.

Ian also enjoys community involvement and has been a director of the Bayfield & Area Chamber of Commerce for several years while also helping to found the online newspaper , Bayfield Breeze.  Ian also assists several local organizations with their reporting needs.
